The safest, most useful AI automations have a person at the points where mistakes would be expensive. Everything else runs fast on its own.

What the phrase means
"Human in the loop" means a person reviews, approves or can override an automated step. It is a design choice: decide where automation runs on its own and where it pauses for a person.
Where to put the human
- Before launch. Someone tests every build with real scenarios before it is switched on.
- On sensitive actions. Anything involving money, commitments, health, legal matters or complaints.
- On exceptions. When the system is unsure, it escalates instead of guessing.
- After launch. Spot-check live results regularly.
What can run on its own
Low-risk, repetitive, easily reversed steps are good candidates: sending a confirmation text, logging a lead, creating a reminder. The more reversible a step is, the safer it is to automate.
What it costs and saves
Review adds a little time up front and prevents expensive errors later. It also makes clear who is accountable if something breaks.
How we work
At Swaha AI, we use AI for first-draft automation logic, migration scripting, research and reporting. We do not use it for judgement calls, client conversations or anything that goes live without a human reviewing it first. See about Swaha AI.
Common questions
Does review make automation slow?
Not noticeably. The review happens once before launch and as light spot-checks after.
Who is accountable if it fails?
There should be a named person. Ask before you buy.
